That’s up from 103 in 2021.

Well known high ranked members continue to reign, for instance Charles Schwab, who established the brokerage firm that bears his name in 1971, and Carl Icahn, the activist shareholder who has been investing in companies and agitating for change for more than 40 years. Another investor is Warren Buffett, who became the richest person on the Forbes list in 1982, is the richest person in finance and investments as of 2022.

New numbers of who built their wealth in ways that couldn’t even be fathomed four decades ago. Sam Bankman-Fried and Gary Wang, who founded cryptocurrency exchange FTX together in their age of 30 and 29 years old respectfully. They are the youngest member of billionaires in 2022, and two of four crypto billionaires in the ranks.

Other finance and investments newcomers include trading and investments billionaire Arthur Dantchik, investor and sports mogul Todd Boehly, fintech tycoon Hayes Barnard and private equity billionaires Stephen Dechoff, Carl Thoma and Stephen Feiberg.

The technology industry has created 65 billionaires, which represent

16.3 percent  of the richest individuals in the United States. With collective net worth of 1.06 trillion USD. In 2022 on the technology list Jeff Bezos is the richest person who accumulate his wealth, 151 billion USD, from technology industry.

The technology industry consider to be the second builder of wealth creation, with 65 billionaires, including six of the top ten richest people in the United States: Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, Microsoft cofounder Bill Gates, Oracle founder Larry Ellison, Google cofounders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, and the former CEO of Microsoft Steve Ballmer.

Tech newcomers in 2022 include Rick Cohen, the billionaire who found C&S Wholesale Grocers and warehouse automation firm Symbotic; Leo Koguan, founder of IT provider SHI International; and Hua Shen, who became wealthy producing semiconductors.

The food and beverage industry has created 40 billionaires in 2022, which considered to be 10 percent of the richest in the United States. Collective net worth of 274 billion USD. Jacqueline Mars and John Mars are on the top with 37 billion USD each.

Fashion and Retail

There are 36 billionaires who accumulate their fortune from businesses related to fashion and retail.  These number consider to be  9 percent of the  richest people in the United States.
