As a result of financial illiteracy, my financial situation was disorganized. I was living under heavy debts. As a result of acquiring bad loans, such as furniture and car loans, I found myself paying 60 percent of my income on repayments of either loans or installments.
During the financial crisis of 2008, I decided to improve my financial literacy by enrolling into Haaga-Hella University as a Business Administration student, where I specialized in finance. The first course that caught my attention was on balancing budgets. On that course, I learned how to spend less than my income. Immediately, I reduced unnecessary spending by, for instance, selling my car, relocating my family to another better and cheaper apartment, and delaying gravitation. More importantly, I worked hard to improve my financial literacy, and as a result, I turned to cash purchases instead of loans or installments.
After graduating in 2013, I immediately started to invest in exchange market and enrolled into the Banking and Finance Master’s program at Kingston University, London, I learned about professional investment strategies and began my investment journey in the financial market.
Since I am passionate about finance, I found the topic interesting to discuss with others, including my family members, friends, and co-workers. As someone who has financial experience, I usually talk to them about the important financial issues, such as personal finance, investment, how and where to invest, etc.
As the discussions took place, I always realized that my audiences were interested in listening to my explanation. Therefore, I decided to enlighten them with financial knowledge by publishing my first book in finance sector and creating a website.
Instead of teaching each of them individually, I am now referring them to my book, The First Investor, How to Become Financially Successful and my articles on the https://bawila.com.
On the website, I, with help of my team, would like to share my experiences in the financial industry with my readers, who would like to improve their financial literature and become financially successful.
